The New Freelance Lady

Do you like the new Blogger interface? I wasn't so sure at first. After I tinkered around with it, I decided that I love it. Definitely much easier to use.

Between the Blogger changes, did ya notice my new layout here at Freelance Lady? Would you believe that I designed it all by myself? Yep. I sure did. Hell, I figured that if I wanted something custom and cute, I'd have to do it myself or else pay out the boo-tay with money I don't have.

Anywho, with the new layout comes numerous other changes. The old Freelance Lady lacked personality. It lacked inspiration. There was nothing about it that stuck out to me. All of the posts were technical in nature and felt forced. The colors and design were dull and boring. What started out as a brilliant idea quickly spiraled into a disorganized charade. So, I put a stop to it. In fact, I stopped blogging all together.

You see, when I first created Freelance Lady, I wanted it to be a place where writers could go to find useful resources, tips, tools, and job listings, but I also wanted to implement a piece of my life into the whole package.

That "my life" part never materialized here on Freelance Lady.

Until now.

During my time pondering the direction to take with this site, I decided that I wanted the world to get a deeper look into my life. Everyone who knows that I'm a stay-at-home mom and writer think that I live a life full of luxuries. I hate to be the one to burst this common bubble, but it's not perfect by any means. In fact, sometimes I feel smothered. Other days, I feel on top of the world. See? I have good days and bad days. I'm just like you. And I hope that we can relate on the different topics I'll cover here.

Since this is a "freelance" site, I'll keep the goodies up for you. I added an entire page dedicated to websites that pay people to work-at-home, along with a page for tools for writers.

In addition, I'll be adding the following:

Each Wednesday, I'll include a "word of the day" that I will use in my blog post.

On Thursdays, I'll take time out of my day to personally thank someone.

On Fridays, I'll post a list of freelance job leads OR a few tools writers may find useful.
Sundays will be devoted to writing about scenic places. Along with pictures.

I really hope that Freelance Lady becomes a blog that you enjoy reading, as well as a place to find useful tips, resources, and job listings.

Don't forget that I'm always open to suggestions as well!
