Freelance Friday: 6 Direct Sales Companies

Thank God it's Friday!

If you're interested in selling products from your home or becoming an independent consultant for a company, then you're in luck. Today, I'm listing 6 direct sales companies that I think you'll enjoy. Whether you're into beauty, adult products, or pets, there's likely something here for you.

Enjoy!

Jamberry Nails

I'm a nail-art, nail-polish fanatic! I love experimenting with new products and designs, so it's no surprise that Jamberry Nails caught my attention. A new company, Jamberry Nails was launched in Spring 2012. They sell nail shields that last up to three weeks on your pretty little fingers, and up to 8 weeks on your tootsies. If you're like me, you tend to chip your nail polish within 10 minutes after drying, but with Jamberry Nails, you don't have to worry about that. The product is a stick-on that is applied with heat and pressure. The seal is water tight, so doing your dishes won't effect 'em. Start-up cost in $99.

Intimate Expressions

If you're not the shy type, then you might enjoy selling adult products with Intimate Expressions. Unlike other companies where you only earn 20 to 30% commission, Intimate Expressions offers 50% commission immediately. The products are perfect for bachelorette parties, a girls night in, or even as "couples' therapy" to reignite the fire in a couple's relationship. Start-up cost starts as low as $49.99. You can also earn free gifts.

Damsel in Defense

I'm all for empowering woman and protecting them against assailants. We're often considered the "weaker sex," but with Damsel in Defense, I'd say that's no longer true. Damsel in Defense offers non-lethal defense tools, including personal and door alarms, pepper sprays with UV dye to mark attackers, and even stun guns. The tools come in feminine colors like purples, pinks, and baby blues. Damsel Pros receive 30% commission. Start-up cost is $179 and includes business cards, brochures, and invites.

The Clever Containers Co.

When I was a teenager, I wanted to start a closet organizing business, even though my closet was never clean. When I saw The Clever Containers Co., I was super excited. They offer hooks, bins, hanging baskets, and other storage items to help organize pantries, closets, and even your car. At your parties, you could show your guests how to use the products, and even host a "Container Tutorial" on the best ways to use certain containers. Start-up cost is $200 and you receive 25% starting commission.

Essential Body Wear

I remember when I first bought a bra that actually fit. When I put my clothes on, I couldn't believe it. My body had completely transformed. My waist looked smaller, my breasts looked perkier, and there were no unsightly lumps and bulges. Enter Essential Body Wear. The company specializes in proper-fitting undergarments. Party hosts can choose to take "before and after" photos of the women before they try on an Essential Body Wear undergarment, and then after. Chances are, the results will sell the product. Reps earn 25% commission. Start-up cost is $300.

Shure Pets

I love animals, so naturally, I found Shure Pets appealing. Shure Pets representatives host "pupperware" (how freakin' cute!) parties, where pet owners and their fluffy companions are in attendance. How fun is that? Products include treats, toys, grooming supplies, apparel, and even collars. Oh, and if you're a cat fan, don't worry, because there are plenty of items available for your feline friend too! Reps start at 25% commission with the potential to earn up to 27%. Start-up cost is $150.
