With baby number one, I was ill-informed and intimidated by my pregnancy. Also, I believed that HCG was responsible for all of the negative aspects of my pregnancy---muscle aches, pelvic pain, heartburn, fatigue, etc. As it turns out, however, HCG is a natural hormone and during pregnancy, the levels of HCG double every two days when you're with child. The purpose of HCG in the body is to metabolize stored fat in order to be used as fuel, or energy, for both the mother and her unborn child.
Now, for the kicker: HCG can be used for weight loss. That's right! You may think that ingesting the hormone would cause you to look and feel pregnant, but that is simply not the case. As a matter of fact, HCG can be used safely by both women and men, and can help you shed unwanted pounds. Basically, HCG will "target" stored fat, so to speak, and use it as energy. As a result, you burn more calories and lose more weight. As an added bonus, you'll have more energy and feel less tired.
It's amazing the things you learn when you're browsing the Internet!
