Mega Mesh Premium Magnetic Screen Door Review

About a year ago, my husband and I brought home a dog who turned out to be incredibly destructive. He was so destructive, in fact, that we had to get rid of him after he tore every screen off of our windows and our sliding door in the back yard, chewed up our couch (yes, our couch) and even a door.

Above, you can see the damage on our sliding back door. Literally half the screen was gone. We never got around to fixing it, but recently, I was able to try the Mega Mesh Premium Magnetic Screen Door. I hoped that it could replace the screen that was torn on our sliding back door.

The package came with the screen door (looked like a heavy-duty screen "sheet" with magnets), some Velcro strips, tacks, and an instruction sheet. Upon opening the bag, I noticed that the screen smelled like a brand new tent (avid campers know what I'm talking about).

I laid out the screen onto my floor and noticed that it was a pretty nice size. Long and fairly wide--enough to fit even a wider door frame.

The directions said to wipe the door frame with a clean, damp cloth and allow it to dry. The next step was to measure the door frame and to mark the center with a pencil. After that, attach the Velcro strips (a longer one across the top and four small ones down each side). After attaching the Velcro, you can carry the screen to the area that you'll be hanging it. Remove the white backing off of the strips and then hang the door frame.

I decided to hang my screen from the outside. I would have hung it on the inside, but I would have had to attach it to my sliding door which would have posed a problem whenever the door was opened.

It was very easy to hang up, and if you make a mistake, it's not so sticky that you can't remove it and start again--but it's also sticky enough to stay in place once you hang it up.

I did notice that one of the Velcro strips was slightly longer than it needed to be (which you can see below), but after a quick snip of the scissors, the problem was solved.

I really like the way it looks and the way the screen snaps right back in place after you walk through it.

Our dog (not the destructive one) really enjoys being able to sit by the back door now without a glass door in his way. He doesn't have to wait for someone to open the door to go outside or come back in--and we don't have to worry about bugs getting inside!

I'm quite impressed by the screen. To be honest, I wasn't sure it would hold up, but it's been a week and I see no signs of wearing on the Velcro strips or the stickiness.

I would certainly recommend this product, especially to those of you in place of a screen door. This is so much more useful than a standard screen door, as you do not have to put all of your things down to walk through it.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
