These, my friends, are the geniuses who came up with giving gifts away using a maze.

I absolutely loved this idea as soon as I came across the Maze Money Box. The first person that I thought of was my son. He loves everything that has to do with games and puzzles, so I knew this would be a fun gift-giving idea that he would love! And I loved the idea of "earning" your prize, because who doesn't enjoy a good challenge?
Just to get an idea of what the maze was like, I went ahead and gave it a whirl. Within about 10 minutes, I had solved the puzzle. When my son approached me, he asked if he could give it a try. So, I moved the ball back to the starting position and let him give it a shot. After about 20 minutes he, too, had solved the maze. With that said, it's clear that it's even possible for a child to solve.
Now, while the idea is fabulous, it didn't come without its issues. The Maze Money Box took quite a bit of effort to get the slot open. The instructions were not very clear. Because of that, I had to figure it out for myself. Just looking at the maze gives you a pretty good idea of what needs to be done, however, so I was able to get the hang of it.
Basically, you just guide the ball by twisting and turning the box until you get it next to the latch. Once the ball is in between the latch, just slide it with your finger to unlock the box. It works because the ball, when you slide the latch, pushes the latch open. This took a lot of strength at first. Luckily, the latch was easier to slide after each time we opened it.
