Today, our lives have changed quite drastically. Now, we are a family of four, living on a budget. Food costs are higher than ever, so these days, we try to make use of what we have, and make what we purchase last as long as possible.
|Eating ain't cheap nowadays.|
Storage containers have become a necessity in our home. I've recently started looking into freezer meals. That is, preparing meals ahead of time and freezing them to eat throughout the week. This saves on food cost and also cuts down on cooking time.
|Who says freezer meals can't be delicious?|
If the food isn't stored properly, however, then all of your hard work spent prepping goes to waste. I have tried plastic zip baggies and generic storage containers, but none seem to keep the food fresh long enough—and in one instance, I had a storage container crack while it was in the freezer.
Needless to say, I now look for high-quality, air-tight storage containers that are actually designed to stay in tact while freezing.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Ozeri again (you may remember me reviewing their 3X Tower Fan, Green Earth Frying Pan, and the Fresko Duo Salt & Pepper Grinder, to name a few). This time, I was able to try out the INSTAVAC Green Earth Food Storage Container Set.
This particular storage container set comes with eight pieces (four containers and four lids).
The set is BPA-free and features vacuum seal technology and locking lids. Forget pumps, motors, and other annoying gadgets—the INSTAVAC Green Earth Food Storage Container Set utilizes a one-way valve to release the air inside to keep food fresh longer. Not only that, but releasing the air also releases pressure, which prevents spills and splatters when you're heating your delicious dishes in the microwave.
To use the containers, you simply add in your food and then put the lid on.
Next, just press down on the lid. Air is then pushed out through the valve.
Ozeri has also implemented a date dial onto the containers. This is extremely nifty, as it allows you to keep track of when the food was stored and how long it has been sitting in the freezer or refrigerator.
What I found to be quite neat was the ridges on the bottom of the containers. At first, I thought it was just a pretty design. Then, I read the description. Apparently, these waves keep fruits and vegetables elevated to prevent them from soaking in their own juices and water, essentially helping to extend the length of freshness.
As if that weren't enough to make you want to try the INSTAVAC Green Earth Food Storage Container, they are also stain-resistant (forget those yucky orange spaghetti sauce stains), shatter proof (no more cracked plastic in the freezer), and are transparent. They can be used in the freezer, microwave, and are also dishwasher safe.
For $34.95, you can receive this set from Ozeri with FREE SHIPPING.
You seriously have nothing to lose by trying these storage containers from Ozeri. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
