Charleston Falls Nature Preserve is located near West Charleston, Ohio, right on the outskirts of Huber Heights. I have wonderful memories of Charleston Falls. When my sisters and I were children, my parents would take us there to picnic and tell stories about the cave.
Now that I have children of my own, I enjoy taking them to Charleston Falls to enjoy the beauty of the place and learn about the history of the land.
It's no Niagara Falls, but it you visit the preserve after a good soaking, you'll understand why so many people flock to the place. The woodsy smell in the air, the rabbits and squirrels moving about, and the sound of the water trickling into the stream below are enough to help your mind escape the daily hustle and bustle of life.
If you're into photography, there are so many photo ops here. There are plenty of beautiful towering trees, plants, and animals to grab quick photos of.
Taking pictures from the upper lookout is beautiful, but even more so when the falls are wet.
You might even find some insects going on about their daily lives...
Or even find the sun peeking at you from behind the trees...
With the falls, the Thorny Badlands, the prairie, and so much more, you're likely to find something that tickles your fancy.
