Home & Garden, Photography, and Tech Writers Wanted

Today, I have three new "paid to write" opportunities for all of you writers out there. If you're a teen who is 16 or older, you're in luck, because one of these positions (dotTech) accepts teenage writers from anywhere in the world. How cool is that?

Home & Garden Writers Wanted

Homedit is a virtual magazine in need of writers who are home & garden experts. Writers must exhibit expertise in their chosen topic (architecture, interior design, home decor, DIY projects, and gardening, among numerous others. A relevant degree or certification is a plus, as well as experience writing about the aforementioned topics. Style must be clear and concise, and all articles are required to be at least 500 words long. Payment is $5 for basic DIY articles or tutorials, and $10 to $15 for more thorough pieces.

* To apply, email admin [at] homedit [dot] com with a unique 500+ word writing sample about home decoration or interior design. Also, include a short paragraph about why you'd be the perfect fit as a writer for Homedit, and what you'd bring to the table to help them expand their popularity within the home & garden niche.

Photography Writers Wanted

Digital Photography School is seeking passionate amateur, intermediate, or expert photographers with an excellent grasp of the English language to produce instructional and information articles (tips, how-to, tutorials) within the photography niche. The purpose of Digital Photography School is to help photographers (novice and intermediate) learn to better their photography skills. Topics include, but are not limited to, composition, technique, how to use special gear, specific cameras, and specialized photography tutorials covering different environments, from weddings to wildlife and sports events to landscapes. If you have a large amount of your own high-quality photographs, you will have an advantage over other applicants. Payment is per post and will be negotiated upon acceptance.

* Please familiarize yourself with Digital Photography School's articles and voice style before filling out a writers application. To apply, fill out the Digital Photograph School's writer application and submit it by September 10, 2012.

Tech Writers Wanted


dotTech needs tech-savvy individuals with a grasp of the English language to provide around 8 to 10 articles per day (negotiable) for their growing website. Writers are required to cover important and current tech events and news found on topics such as the web, Windows, Mac, mobile (Android, iOS, etc.). dotTech wants the information to come from reliable and popular tech sources such as ArsTechnica, AllThingsD, Engadget, Phandroid, Android Central, and 9to5Mac, upon others, and all sources must be cited. Plagiarism will not be tolerated. Writers must be at least 16 years of age, be able to write in understandable English, have a reliable internet connection, and a PayPal account.

In the subject line, write "I Want to be a Tech Writer," and in the body of the email, include your name, age, where you live, how many articles per day you're willing to contribute, what you wish to write about, how much you expect to be paid monthly, and a relevant writing sample.
