I was feeling pretty festive so I dressed both of the kids up in red, white, and blue attire. They looked adorable, even though Ireland kept pulling out her hair bow.

My parents were cooking out, so we enjoyed an Independence Day feast, complete with hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, potato salad, and baked beans--and my favorite treat was my dad's grilled stuffed sweet peppers.
I never did get around to asking my dad about the stuffed sweet peppers recipe (although I know it was stuffed with some sort of cheese and jalapenos, among other ingredients) so I did a quick search and found something that I thought was interesting: a crab and cheese stuffed peppers recipe by Sumptuous Spoonfools.

I'm definitely going to mention those to my dad, because he would love to try them.
Anyway, after our bellies were full, we headed out to my sister's place where we played video games before leaving to see the fireworks. It was Ireland's first time seeing them, and she loved every minute of it. She would point to the sky and say, "Wooo," which translates into "Wow!"
There's my quick update for Independence Day! I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekend!
