InstaNaturals Essential Oils (Peppermint & Lavender) + Natural Tooth Polish Recipe

Although I'm relatively new to the world of essential oils, I'm highly impressed with what I've learned, as well as with the wide range of uses for them.

Recently, I had the opportunity to try InstaNaturals Peppermint Essential Oil, as well as their Lavender Essential Oil.

* Product and/or service provided for review without cost. As always, all opinions are my own.

InstaNaturals clearly knows their essential oils. The first few things that I noticed included that the bottles were brown, the droppers are glass, and only one ingredient was included on each bottle.

Brown, glass bottles are important, as they protect the oils from sunlight, which can break it down and reduce its effectiveness. Glass droppers are equally as important, as plastic droppers allow the chemicals and other impurities from creating plastic to leach into the oil, deeming it impure. Finally, the fact that only one ingredient is included on each bottle means that it contains no additives and no preservatives, and is 100% all-natural essential oil.

Peppermint Essential Oil

I had never used Peppermint Oil before and was amazed by its potency. Before I even opened the package, my son walked up to me and said, "You smell like gum." Little did he know, there was Peppermint Oil inside of the box sitting on my lap. That, and the fact that the bottle was not damaged (and was completely sealed) says quite a bit about its potency.

I wasn't sure what to do with the Peppermint Essential Oil at first, because while I like the scent, I wasn't sure it was something I wanted in my diffuser. I finally decided to create a tooth polish (to remove surface stains and keep those teeth looking beautiful). For the recipe, scroll down to the bottom of this post.

Lavender Essential Oil

I'm rather familiar with Lavender Essential Oil. As a matter of fact, it is one of the very first EOs that I tried. Because its known for its relaxation properties, I decided to use it in my diffuser, as well as place a couple of drops onto my pillow before I added my pillow case. I felt that it would be perfect for helping me sleep at night. And it was.

The lavender oil has a sweet pine-y scent, as true lavender should. A true lavender scent should be more woodsy than floral, which may come as a surprise to some. Many commercial products, such as candles and perfumes, use synthetic ingredients to add "lavender" fragrance, which is why there is a huge misconception about what lavender truly smells like.

Tooth Polish Recipe

You will need:

  • 1 Part Baking Soda
  • 1 Part Natural Sea Salt
  • 2-3 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil

Mix your baking soda and sea salt together.

Add a few drops of Peppermint Essential Oil. It will cake on top of the mixture, but you can use your fingers to work it throughout.

Before brushing your teeth, add a small amount to your toothbrush and brush like you normally would. Do not swallow.

Spit out the mixture, then follow up by brushing with your regular toothpaste.

InstaNaturals Essential Oils really stand out to me, not only because of their clear knowledge of essential oils, but also because of the sheer amount that you receive for the price. Many essential oils that I've purchased in the past come in very tiny vials. These are medium-sized bottles, which provide more than enough essential oil, to potentially last you years, depending on how you use it.

For less than $20, you'll receive a 4 fl oz bottle. Head on over to InstaNaturals to learn more, or purchase your first bottle today!
